Project Management with Brett Blackadar

Brett Blackadar is the director of Mobility and Innovation/City Engineer at the City of Altamonte Springs. He'll be joining us to to talk about his experience as a project manager and give us tips and tricks as we grow in our careers.

Brett Blackadar graduated in 1997 from the University of Florida with a Bachelor in Science in Civil Engineering and in 1998 with a Master of Engineering (focusing in Transportation Engineering).  Brett has a professional engineering license (PE), a professional traffic operation engineer (PTOE) certification and project management professional certification (PMP).  Brett has 24 years of professional experience in transportation engineering in Central Florida.  He spent four years in consulting after graduation and then worked at Seminole County for the next 14 years, where he served as County Engineer for the last four years.  Brett has worked at the City of Altamonte Springs for the last 6 and a half years and now serves as the Director of Mobility and Innovation/City Engineer.  In his current role at the City, Brett will also be serving as the Manager of the Altamonte Global Innovation Lab, which is currently under development. Brett has been married for 23 years and has two daughters: one 18-year old who is a sophomore at the University of South Florida, and one 20-year old who is a junior at the University of North Florida.
