YPT-NYC & APA-NYM Transportation Scavenger Hunt

Our scavenger hunt is back - with a new format! Wander around New York City and look for transit-oriented clues for your chance to win.

About this event

Young Professionals in Transportation-NYC Chapter (YPT-NYC) and American Planning Association New York Metro Chapter (APA-NYM) are excited to bring back our Transportation Scavenger Hunt! Our theme this year is "A Celebration of Transit".

How it works

• Teams of up to 5 people will compete for a chance to be crowned transportation scavengers-in-chief! We'll meet at Battery Park at 10:30am for an 11am start.
• Submit photos of your team with items/places you find on the clue board, which you'll find throughout the New York City transportation system. Point values vary depending on item/place.
• The hunt will conclude at 3pm. At 4pm, we'll reconvene at a central meeting location for drinks and also to award prizes!

To participate, you'll need

• $5 + Eventbrite fee to register (proceeds go towards prizes)
• A fare payment method - note that transit fares are at your own expense. There will also be plenty of ways to rack up points in public spaces, and Citi Bike passes are available at no charge as needed.
• At least one person with a data-enabled smartphone with WhatsApp per team.
• A pair of comfortable running shoes.

If you don't have a pre-formed team, feel free to join the day-of and make new friends.

You'll receive more instructions closer to the event date. Our meeting point will be Battery Park on the Battery Place side, near the bathrooms.

**Our rain date will either be Sunday, April 16 or Saturday, April 22.**
