Join YPT for our Future of the Final Frontier Series! In this latest series YPT aims to showcase the Space Industry and the opportunities for young professionals and students interested in this field. In this first event, YPT Chair & CEO William Wang will lead a discussion with Richa Sirohi, Lead Information System Engineer at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, on NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar), a joint Earth-observing mission between NASA and the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) to study hazards and global environmental change. We will learn how space missions like NISAR can tackle climate change and enable the robotic and human exploration of space. Finally, Richa will speak about her passion and experiences in the space industry.
Speaker: Richa Sirohi, Lead Information System Engineer at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory
Richa Sirohi (she / her) is the Lead End-to-End Information System Engineer on the NISAR (NASA-ISRO Synthetic Aperture Radar) mission at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Richa has previously worked on the Psyche mission, Mars Perseverance Rover, the Cold Atom Laboratory, Multi-Angle Imager for Aerosols (MAIA), a Lunar Mission Concept, and Europa Clipper. She also founded JPL’s Early Career Community for young professionals. Richa studied Mechanical Engineering at Baylor and went on to complete a Master’s from Cornell University in Systems Engineering with an emphasis on Aerospace Systems and research in Soft Robotics (2019). She is currently pursuing a part-time Master’s in Engineering Management from Cornell University while also working full-time at JPL.
